David Hughes is the driving force behind Certus. With over two decades of experience across valuation, asset management, and advisory, he’s worked at the sharp end of the property industry — from high-profile corporate occupiers to major UK banks.
He began his career at DTZ, where he built expertise in valuation, lease consultancy, and asset management while acting as Account Director for long-income funds and corporate occupiers. David then spent nearly ten years at Lloyds Bank, initially managing distressed real estate before stepping up as Head of Real Estate Advisory. There, he oversaw the underwriting of more than £3 billion of property annually, working closely with credit and risk teams to manage portfolio risk.
David has presented to the Bank of England and PRA on real estate portfolio risk initiatives and is recognised across the industry as a thought leader, driving forward best practice in valuation.
